The World Geothermal Congress 2026 (WGC2026) was held in Calgary, Canada, from June 8 to 11. As the international business platform of Sinopec Star New Energy Co. Ltd. , CGCOC Group participated in the event as part of the Sinopec Group delegation. During the exhibition, CGCOC Group, together with Sinopec Green Energy Geothermal Development Co., Ltd., showcased technological achievements and industrial practices in the geothermal and renewable energy sectors, demonstrating to the global industry the comprehensive capabilities of Chinese enterprises in integrated new energy development and international cooperation.

On March 30, Lan Meizhong, Chairman of CGCOC, met in Beijing with Abass Fall, Mayor of Dakar, Senegal, who was on a visit to China. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on further deepening cooperation and reached broad consensus.

On February 10, 2026, Lan Meizhong, Party Secretary and Chairman of CGCOC, met in Beijing with Dr. Brook Taye, CEO of Ethiopian Investment Holdings, and his delegation. The two sides held in-depth discussions on further deepening and expanding cooperation in Ethiopia in such fields as industry and agriculture. Gao Lei, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of the company, also attended the meeting.

On January 22 local time, Li Zhigang, Chinese Ambassador to Senegal, together with Dr. Cheikh Tidiane Dieye, Senegal’s Minister of Hydraulics and Sanitation, visited Diagle Village in the Fatick Region to inspect the Diagle well under Phase II of CGCOC’s Rural Drinking Water Supply Project (formally known as the Project for the Construction and Rehabilitation of Water Infrastructure and the Expansion of Rural Drinking Water Supply Networks) undertaken by CGCOC Senegal Company, and jointly witnessed the project’s phased achievements. The project is financed with the support of the Export-Import Bank of China.

On March 12, Chairman Lan Meizhong met with Tahir Hamid Nguilin, State Minister and Minister of Finance, Budget, Economy and Planning of Chad, who was visiting China. The two sides held discussions and exchanges on further expanding and deepening multi-sector cooperation in Chad.

On February 3, Senegalese Prime Minister Sonko attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Phase II of the rural well drilling project, funded by the Export-Import Bank of China and undertaken by CGCOC. The ceremony was also attended by Senegal's Minister of Water and Sanitation, Cheikh Tidiane Dieye and other cabinet ministers, the Governor of the Louga region as well as Li Yan, Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Senegal, and Rong Weidong, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Senegal.

From November 28 to 30, the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo African Tour (Nigeria) and the 18th China Engineering and Technology Exhibition were held at the Abuja Trade and Convention Center, the capital of Nigeria. CGCOC participated in the event.

Recently, Chairman Lan Meizhong met with Malick Ndiaye, Senegal's Minister of Infrastructure, and Mbengue Assane, General Manager of Dakar Dem Dikk (DDD Public Transport Company), who were in China accompanying the President of the Republic of Senegal for the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit. The two sides held in-depth discussions on deepening cooperation in the fields of public transportation and infrastructure development in Senegal. Pang Dongsong, General Representative for the Francophone Region, along with representatives from the Group's Market Development Department and Senegal Office, also attended the meeting.

On September 3, Chairman Lan Meizhong held talks with Minister Wike of Nigeria's Federal Capital Territory, who was in China accompanying the Nigerian President to attend the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit. During the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed. The Managing Director of CGC Nigeria Limited, Zhong Xiang, along with relevant department and agency heads from the company, also attended the meeting.
