In 1983, the former Ministry of Geology and Minerals of China implemented the foreign-aid well drilling projects in Nigeria of Africa, and later established CGC NIG LTD based on the Project Team, and that's what CGCOC was. In December 2002, to further carry out engineering cooperation and energy develop ment in Africa, Sinopec Star Co., Ltd. and China Geo-Engineer - ing Corporation, based on CGC NIG LTD, established CGCOC, which was headquartered in Beijing. With the joining of multiple shares, CGCOC Group was established.

Since its establishment, the Group has persevered with its orientation in overseas markets and carried out the localized operation.
