On September 7, Chairman Lan Meizhong met with Nigeria's Minister of Works, David Umahi, who was visiting China to attend the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit alongside President Bola Tinubu. Zhou Ming, Deputy Chief Economist and Director of the Office (Foreign Affairs Office) of Sinopec Xinxing Petroleum Co., Ltd., Zhong Xiang, Managing Director of CGC Nigeria Limited, as well as heads of relevant departments and subsidiaries, were present throughout the meeting.

Chairman Lan Meizhong warmly welcomed Minister David Umahi and his delegation, and expressed sincere gratitude for the Minister's longstanding support for CGCOC Group. Chairman Lan provided a detailed introduction to the company's development journey, highlighting its extensive experience and achievements. He noted that the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit has brought new opportunities for China-Africa collaboration, and that the prospects for cooperation between CGCOC and Nigeria are broader than ever. He affirmed the company's commitment to contributing more to Nigeria's development and construction efforts.
Minister David Umahi expressed his appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the CGCOC team in Nigeria and commended the achievements made. He emphasized that under the leadership of President Tinubu, Nigeria is striving to achieve rapid development similar to that of China. Against the backdrop of increasingly close Nigeria-China relations, he expressed a strong desire to deepen cooperation with CGCOC Group. He looks forward to seeing more high-quality projects implemented and hopes for greater progress in areas such as engineering innovation, renewable energy, infrastructure development, and talent cultivation.
During the meeting, both parties watched the special promotional video "Partner in Africa's Development, Bridge of China-Africa Cooperation", which showcases CGCOC Group's achievements and contributions to development across the African continent.
