On March 25, the groundbreaking ceremony for Section B of the Access Road to the Second Niger Bridge Phase II, undertaken by CGC Nigeria Limited, was grandly held in Anambra State, Nigeria. This event marked a significant step forward in the development of transportation infrastructure and regional connectivity in southeastern Nigeria. The ceremony was attended by representatives authorized by Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, including Anambra State Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Federal Minister of Works David Umahi, local traditional leaders, and CGC representative Chen Kangle.

In his speech, Governor Soludo stated that the newly launched Section B of the Phase II Access Road project aims to further improve the connectivity of the Second Niger Bridge, enabling it to fully realize its intended function. The project is expected to ease traffic congestion in Onitsha and facilitate smoother transportation from Anambra State to Rivers, Delta, Abia, Imo, Enugu, and Ebonyi States, thereby contributing to the region's economic and social development.

In his remarks, David Umahi expressed strong approval of the successful commencement of the project, pledged full support for its implementation, and urged the communities along the route to work together in creating a favorable environment for the project's execution.

Chen Kangle expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Federal Government for its trust and support of the company's development in Nigeria. He pledged that the project team would uphold a rigorous work ethic, strictly adhere to the highest quality standards, and deliver the project on schedule.

The Nigerian News Agency, The Sun, and other major local media outlets provided detailed coverage of the groundbreaking ceremony. Many reports highlighted that the project will significantly improve interstate transportation in Nigeria, ease traffic congestion, and boost economic activity in regions such as Anambra and Delta States. The Second Niger Bridge, inaugurated in 2023, has already played a positive role in improving transportation in southeastern Nigeria. The newly launched Section B of the access road project will further enhance the bridge's connectivity, unlock its full potential, and inject strong momentum into the region's transportation development.
