He noted that the works have been carried out in full compliance with applicable standards and have consistently demonstrated a high level of quality. The mayor also expressed his hope that construction would continue to advance at an accelerated pace so that the project's full benefits could be realized as soon as possible.

The local radio station highlighted that residents of the Bogo district, together with local administrative authorities, municipal officials, and traditional leaders, had convened a special gathering to express their appreciation for the project's significant progress. According to the letter, the Chinese project team has demonstrated strong professionalism and efficiency throughout the construction period, while the quality of the works has earned widespread recognition from local communities. The station further noted the close cooperation maintained between the project team, local authorities, and residents.
The letter emphasized that the road project is already delivering tangible social and economic benefits by improving connectivity, facilitating trade and commerce, and addressing the long-standing transportation challenges that have hindered development in the Bogo area.
Project Overview
The project is located in Bogo, within the Diamaré Department of Cameroon’s Far North Region. Its scope includes the construction and upgrading of a 32.86-kilometer trunk road linking Bogo and the Girvidig Junction, as well as 5 kilometers of urban roads in Bogo and 6.2 kilometers of municipal roads in Maroua.
Overall project progress has now reached approximately 80 percent. The Bogo–Girvidig trunk road has been fully completed and opened to traffic. In Bogo, asphalt paving has been completed along the entire 5-kilometer urban road section, significantly enhancing the city's appearance and transportation conditions. In Maroua, only the final 2 kilometers of roadworks remain, with full completion expected in the near future.
Throughout the construction process, CGCOC's project team has remained committed to maintaining a strong on-site presence and adhering to rigorous construction and quality-control standards to deliver a high-quality infrastructure asset.
Moving forward, CGCOC will continue to enforce strict quality management measures while accelerating the remaining works in accordance with the project schedule. The company remains committed to delivering the project on time and to the highest standards, repaying the trust and expectations of all stakeholders through quality infrastructure and contributing to the continued strengthening of China–Cameroon cooperation and friendship.
