The Nile River Major Bridge is the first prestressed concrete continuous rigid frame bridge in Ethiopia, and is currently the largest single span road bridge in Ethiopia. The completion of the bridge has completely ended the isolation between the two sides, effectively promoted regional exchanges and facilitated the livelihood of local people.
