This project is a high-grade highway with the highest design standards and the most advanced supporting facilities since Nigeria's independence, and it is also the largest road project independently awarded to Chinese-funded enterprises in the Nigerian road and bridge market. The successful implementation of the  project has alleviated traffic congestion in Abuja and improved the functioning of the city.
